Athletics

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend the 96^th Annual Track & Field Meet for GPS Schools.  This was held at Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre (QSAC), Nathan, Qld.  The Great Public Schools competing included Ipswich Grammar, Brisbane Grammar, Gregory Terrace, Toowoomba Grammar, Nudgee College, The Southport School, Brisbane Boys’ College, Anglican Church Grammar (Churchie) and Brisbane State High.  I had the pleasure of working with Nudgee College providing physio and massage for their competing athletes.  All the students were very polite and took preparation and recovery seriously.  Nudgee College also came away with the overall Champion School award – The Sir John Goodwin Cup – named after the previous Governor of Queensland.  It was great to see such a high calibre of athletes from all schools competing and the future of athletics in Australia looking bright.
